(Assistant) Manager, Costing (Manufacturing)


  • Responsible for inventory closing, standard cost setting, inventory reconciliation and all other costing related matters.
  • Define and maintain the cost accounting policies and costing standards for raw materials, equipment, labor, overheads, WIP and finished goods.
  • Set up the SAP ERP system and standard costing structure to allocate direct and indirect cost of materials, labour and equipment to the WIP and finished product.
  • Analyse cost drivers, perform variance analysis and recommend to management the remedial actions or productivity improvements.
  • Propose on the supply price in order to maintain and maximize profit margins while remaining price competitive to the customers.
  • Preparation of cost center report, inventory reports, production variance analysis, gross margin analysis by products, customers, and manufacturing processes and other reports as required.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and stock reconciliations to ensure accuracy of inventory reporting.
  • Maintain the fixed assets register and perform routine review and reconciliation to the physical assets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month end accruals and closing in accordance to the financial reporting timelines.
  • Promptly response to the enquiries from the internal and external auditors.
  • Support the budget setting, forecast, monitoring and preparation of monthly management reports (for the local and holding company) and other tasks as needed.


  • Degree in Finance/Accountancy, ACCA or CPA.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, internal controls, inventory/stock management.
  • Experience with SAP and strong Microsoft Excel skills is essential.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS Cost Accounting Standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills to identify cost drivers and inefficiencies and propose cost-effective solutions to management.
  • Team player, self-motivated, strong time management and good communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power-point).
  • Big 4 experience will have the advantage.
